SAM HORNISH JR., NO. 12 ALLIANCE TRUCK PARTS FORD MUSTANG
COMING OFF A SOLID SECOND-PLACE FINISH WITH ANOTHER ROAD COURSE RACE. IS THIS YOUR WEEKEND
“Last weekend we led practice, took the pole and then came up short for the win. That was tough for this whole No. 12 Alliance Truck Parts team. We want to win, especially when we have a car that’s capable of winning. Looking ahead to this weekend, we know what we have to do. Penske Racing has been building fast Ford Mustangs all year long and we showcased how strong they are last weekend. It will be something special to win this race in my home state.”
GREG ERWIN, NO. 12 ALLIANCE TRUCK PARTS FORD CREW CHIEF
YOU ARE THREE POINTS OUT OF FIRST PLACE IN THE STANDINGS. HOW DOES THAT FACTOR INTO YOUR APPROACH AT THIS RACE?
“We have a great car in the Ford Mustang, and we have an excellent driver. Last weekend we were close, real close to getting the win. We will go out there again this weekend at Mid-Ohio and do our best to bring home a victory. We are mindful of the points battle, and Sam showed us that he is driving with that in mind at the last race. We will do everything we can to put him in a position to be leading this thing at the end, and with that the points will take care of themselves.”
