· As the race began, Hornish reported that his Alliance Truck Parts Ford was too free on corner entry and exit.

· Despite dealing with a Ford Mustang that was too free, Hornish was able to improve several positions over the opening laps of the race as he was running in the fourth position by lap 27.

THE RACE REVIEW

· Hornish started the rain delayed event on the outside of the third row after qualifying in the sixth position during the Friday afternoon time trial session.

· The race, which began almost three hours late due to rain, ended up being shortened by 10 laps as daylight gave way to dark.

· As the race began, Hornish lost several positions while looking for a drafting partner as the two-car tandem was the fast way around the superspeedway.

· After the first caution flag of the day, Hornish lined up in the third position behind teammate, Joey Logano. The two teammates ran at or near the front for several laps.

· As the race began, Hornish wasted little time making his way to the lead as he took over the top spot on lap four of the 250-lap event.

· The Alliance Truck Parts Ford Mustang was dominant for the first one-third of the race as Hornish led 83 of the first 87 laps.

HANGING TOUGH: Hornish has been on top of the standings through the first six races of the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) schedule; leading by as little as zero (tied with Allgaier) going into Las Vegas, and by as much as 28 points prior to Fontana. He now has a two point advantage over second-place competitor Regan Smith.

LOVE FOR VIRGINIA: While Hornish will often say he tries to avoid having a favorite track – Richmond is a track that he truly enjoys.
